Physician Medical Reviewer, 2021 - Present

ProPharma Group - home-based - global team spanning Australia, USA and Europe

Pharmacovigilance: Global - vaccine safety/ immunology - COVID-19 - (two vaccine company clients)

Current responsibilities include in-line case safety review, oversight of Signal detection activities,
input to Safety summary reports, Periodic Benefit Risk Evaluation Reports,
and membership of the Sprint team.
I have investigated deviations, finding the route cause, and have developed proportionate Corrective Actions and
Preventative Actions.

Whilst undertaking the above roles, I have also helped to develop the PV Operations culminating in positive feedback
and acknowledgment of 'good work' being noted by the Program manager.
Indeed, I have also supported the development of a team of physicians, maintained and developed SOPs and other
process documentation, including work instructions, and flagged up potential inspection findings,
as any good team-player might, whose focus is on 'the bigger picture'.

This successful re-entry into industry has demonstrated my ability to maintain an effective,
long-term memory of previously-learned industry skills and experiences
(paralleled to the earlier re-entry to clinical practise, 2015),
and has shown my inherent adaptability to have ventured into a new therapy area: vaccine safety.

My post-marketing pharmacovigilance experience is strong, and this present engagement has, insatiably,
'whetted my appetite' for future work in industry, and with 'serendipity' being one of my 'buzz words',
I would be glad to hear from future employers who might wish to allow me to demonstrate my ongoing ability to
easily-venture into new therapy areas,
and/ or to begin to develop my experience into the pharmacovigilance of drug development.

Company Director, 2019 - Present

Incorporation of Thomson-Walsh Property Ltd.

Yes, you have read this correctly: this is one of my hobbies which I turned into a parallel business venture.
This is not the main focus of my career, clearly.

minor electrical works, plumbing, decorating, kitchen and bathroom fitting, minor subsidence works,
gardens maintenance and development, and drafting a house design.

Medical Director, 2017 - Present

Incorporation of Thomson-Walsh Ltd.

Provision of GP locum services.
This is also a 'vehicle' for the provision of any potential fixed-term pharmaceutical industry contracts.

Has included a short-lived, enjoyable, venture into television production as a Medical Consultant:
Dr. Christian Will See You Now, Firecracker Films, for UKTV (2017)

Managing the company finances, accounting, book-keeping, budget holder.
Included the launch of a good-will project: TEDtrust® (2021).

General Practitioner 2015 - Present

Successful re-entry to clinical practise after the completion of the GP Refresher program -
to maintain clinical practise, as 'an extra iron in the fire' - Hertfordshire.

Short-term, ad-hoc locum, County Durham (born and raised here)
Short-term, ad-hoc locum, North-West & Central London (based here since 2009)

Short-term, ad-hoc locum, Republic of Ireland (in-laws live here, and plans for retirement here).

As of 2021, the plan is, now, to keep the clinical skills up-to-date in Ireland, only;
performing the minimum necessary weeks/ year of clinical practise.
Part of the semi-retirement plan, and it helps to keep a 'worthwhile hobby' as part of resilience-building
whilst focussing on the pharmaceutical industry. (Semi-retirement planned for circa 2040!)
